Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release
Three Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been voted to the Canadian Football League's East Division All-Star team announced today.
Running back TROY DAVIS, who registered a career-best 1206 yards rushing in his third year with the Tiger-Cats, was selected on Offence while defensive end TIM CHEATWOOD and cornerback BRANDON HAMILTON were selected on Defence.
For Troy Davis, this was his second consecutive All-Star selection. While leading the Tiger-Cats in rushing this season and moving into 4th place all-time in Tiger-Cat single season rushing yards, Davis also caught 40 passes for 458 yards.
Tim Cheatwood, in his second season with Hamilton, registered 10 quarterback sacks which placed him in a three-way tie for third place in the CFL sack standings. The import from Ohio State also had 63 defensive tackles.
Amazingly for Brandon Hamilton, in his third season with the Tiger-Cats and tenth in the CFL, the All-Star selection was his first ever! The import cornerback snagged 4 interceptions during the season, running one back 86 yards for a touchdown against the Ottawa Renegades in the Tiger-Cats 2003 season home opener on June 20th. Hamilton also made 51 defensive tackles, the second highest total of his career.
The Divisional All-Star nominees were selected by 45 voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada plus 10 broadcast media members.
