Bruins sign Jeff Daw

The Providence Bruins announced today that they have signed center Jeff Daw to a professional tryout agreement. Daw, who was in training camp with the Bruins, played his ninth career professional season this year, posting 29-47-76 totals in 60 games with the Danbury Trashers (UHL). He ranked second on the team in scoring, and tied for the team scoring lead in the playoffs, posting 2-8-10 totals in 11 games. The Trashers were eliminated from the playoffs on Saturday. Daw and the Bruins return to action in Game 3 of the Atlantic Division Finals tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Lowell. The series is tied at 1-1. Daw, a 33-year-old native of Carlyle, Ontario, has 137-173-310 totals and 165 PIM in 485 career AHL games with Hamilton, Lowell, Hershey, Springfield and St. John's. He has also played one NHL game, with the Colorado Avalanche. Daw played collegiate hockey at U-Mass-Lowell from 1992-96, tallying 68-73-141 totals and 60 PIM in 157 games.

The Atlantic Division Finals will shift to Providence on Friday, May 13 at 7:05 p.m., when the Bruins and Lock Monsters face off in Game 4. Game 5 will also be played in Providence, on Saturday, May 14 at 7:05 p.m. Fans attending the games will receive free noisemaker clappers, courtesy the Bruins' Second Round Playoff Sponsors, Dunkin' Donuts, The Martone Group, National City Mortgage, Stanley Bostitch and Arden Engineering.
