
Bruins sign Aucoin for remainder of season

The Providence Bruins announced today that they have signed center Keith Aucoin to a Standard Player's Contract for the remainder of the 2004-05 season. The 26-year-old native of Waltham, Massachusetts was signed by Providence to a tryout contract on November 4, and has 4-7-11 totals in 18 games since. Aucoin was the Bruins' leading scorer in the 2002-03 season, when he posted 25-49-74 totals in 78 games.
The Bruins have also re-signed center Ben Guite and defenseman Pat Aufiero to professional tryout contracts. Guite has 2-3-5 totals in 24 games, while Aufiero has 2-7-9 totals in 21 contests.
The Bruins will host two games this weekend, beginning on Friday, December 10 at 7:05 p.m., when they take on the Hartford Wolf Pack. Friday's game will be Stanley Bostitch Night, with all children 14 and under receiving a free Providence Bruins Buggle stapler, pencil sharpener or hole punch, courtesy of Stanley Bostitch. After visiting the Worcester IceCats on Saturday night, the Bruins return home to host the Binghamton Senators on Sunday, December 12 at 4:05 p.m. Following the game, fans can receive free autographs from Bruin forward Jay Henderson and defenseman Chris Dyment on the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse behind Section 110. The autograph session is sponsored by Brooksie's Sports Bar & Grill.
This weekend's games mark the start of the Bruins' Toys for Tots Drive. Bruins wives and girlfriends will be collecting unopened toys in the Dunkin' Donuts Center box office lobby on Friday from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 2:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Toys will also be collected on Friday, December 17. All toys collected will be donated to the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
