
Falcons Sign LW Brandon Elliott

Springfield, Mass. â The Springfield Falcons, American Hockey League affiliate of the Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning, today announced that the club has signed rookie left wing Brandon Elliott to an amateur tryout.
Elliott, 20, was chosen by the Lightning in the fifth round (158th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-4, 225-pound native of Orangeville, Ontario registered five points (1g, 4a) and a team-high 74 penalty minutes (PIM) with Mississauga of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 22 games this season. Elliott's plus/minus rating of +7 this season ranks third with the IceDogs.
Over three seasons with Mississauga, Elliott has recorded nine points (1g, 8a) and 177 PIM in 59 games.
The Falcons will visit the Worcester IceCats at the DCU Center on Friday evening. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Tune into The ZONE â Sports Radio 640 to catch Marc Shelanski's play-by-play call. The pre-game show begins thirty minutes prior to the opening face-off.
