
Bruins, Hartford ready for battle

The Providence Bruins and Hartford Wolf Pack play the eighth game of the Atlantic Division rivals' 10-game season series at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Friday, February 4 at 7:05 p.m. The Bruins also host the Worcester IceCats on Sunday, February 6 at 2:05 p.m. The Bruins hold a 3-2-0-2 edge in the season series against Hartford. Friday's game will feature a key special teams matchup. The Wolf Pack rank second in the league on the penalty kill at 88.6%, while the Bruins rank second on the power play, at 21.9%. In addition, the Black and Gold has an AHL-best 30.0% rate on the power play at home. Providence scored 10 power play goals in four games last week.
Providence left wing Andy Hilbert is on the verge of making history, as he needs one point to tie the late Sergei Zholtok for the all-time franchise career scoring lead, with 186 points. Hilbert already holds the franchise career record for goals, with 90 in 203 games. He is currently on a team season-high seven-game point streak, during which team he has registered 7-4-11 totals. Hilbert, who turns 24 on Sunday, leads the Bruins and is tied for fifth in AHL scoring with 26-28-54 totals in 48 games. He is tied for third in the league in goals, and leads the league with 209 shots on goal.
