Bruins fall in shootout

Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins continued their four-game road trip on Saturday night in Hershey, Pennsylvania, falling in a hard-fought 4-3 shootout loss to the Bears. The Bruins are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with their 2-4-1-2 record (7 points).

Providence center Keith Aucoin, signed by the team on Thursday, opened the scoring at 9:34 of the first period, on his first goal of the season. The goal was Aucoin's first as a Bruin since April 6, 2003, when he scored twice against Binghamton in the final game of the regular season. Aucoin also tied the game later on his second goal at 11:11 of the third period. Brad Boyes added a power play goal in the second period.

Bruin forward Andy Hilbert scored for the Bruins in the shootout, while Hershey's Marek Svatos and Eric Perrin scored. Hershey goaltender Peter Budaj stopped the Bruins' Yorick Treille to seal the win.

Bruin goaltender Hannu Toivonen stopped 33 shots in taking the loss and is now 2-4-1 on the season.

The Bruins conclude their road trip when they take on the Bears again on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. The action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550, and the team website, www.providencebruins.com.
