Mathieu Darche led the way with two goals and an assist as the BEARS won 4-3 at GIANT Center. The shootout win was the first in building history, and the second shootout victory for HERSHEY this season.

Providence took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period on a goal from Keith Aucoin. Jamie Rivers scored his first goal in a HERSHEY uniform early in the second period to tie the game. Darche becomes the first BEARS player this season to notch three points in one game.

With the game tied at three, the teams went to the shootout where Eric Perrin and Marek Svatos both scored against Bruins goaltender Hannu Toivonen. Perrin and Svatos are now two for two in scoring in shootouts this season. Peter Budaj stopped four of five in the shootout to preserve the win.

The BEARS face Providence Sunday at 5:00 p.m. to wrap up weekend play.
