CONEY ISLAND, NY - The Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets supported Alec Kisena with two five-run innings en route to a 10-1 thumping of the Wilmington Blue Rocks Friday night at Maimonides Park.

KEY PLAYS
Brooklyn's Alec Kisena collected a season-high six innings, allowing one run on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks in the victory. The Seattle native allowed three over the minimum, tossing an efficient 81 pitches.
Leading 5-1 into the sixth, the Cyclones scored five runs in one inning for the second time in the game. Francisco Alvarez demolished a 428-foot home run over the video board in left field to kick-start the inning. Later in the frame Luis Gonzalez drove in a pair with a big bounding grounder over the left side of the infield.
After Mitchell Parker cruised through the first two innings, Brooklyn bats woke up with five runs in the bottom of the third inning to knock the Wilmington starter out of the game. Five consecutive Cyclones hitters collected RBIs, including Ronny Mauricio who boomed an RBI double, while Jose Peroza slammed a run-scoring single to make it 5-0.

Alec Kisena crossed the 100-strikeouts-in-a-season threshold for the first time in his affiliated career. He is the first pitcher in Brooklyn Cyclones history to record at least 100 punchouts in one season.
Francisco Alvarez homered for the 19th time in 2021 and drove in two runs, pushing his RBI total to a Mets minor league leading 63 runs driven in.
In four meetings this season, the Cyclones have scored 16 runs on 20 hits over 15 innings against Wilmington's Friday night starter Mitchell Parker.
