Swift Current, SK - Colby Cave snapped a 3-3 third period tie scoring the game winning goal with 10:13 remaining as the Swift Current Broncos beat the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 Saturday night at Credit Union iplex.
Zane Jones, Jake Virtanen and Chase Lang all scored for the Hitmen who played their fourth game in five nights and fifth contest in seven days.
Brendan Hurley had a pair of assists for Calgary who saw their season high six game winning streak come to an end.
Adam Lowry had a goal and an assist for Swift Current to extend his WHL best point scoring streak to 20 games. Meanwhile Cody Sylvester was held off the sheet for Calgary which ended his career high point scoring streak at eight games.
The Broncos outshot the Hitmen 35-20 going 1-4 on the powerplay while killing all three Calgary chances.
The Eastern Conference leading Hitmen are now 30-11-1-3 and return to action on Friday night to host the Prince George Cougars. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Scotiabank Saddledome.
