Head-to-Head
The Pats and Wheat Kings meet for the second time in a week and the fourth time this season. The Pats took the previous meeting in Regina by a 3-1 score after the Wheat Kings opened the season with a pair of wins over the Blue and White. Morgan Klimchuk leads the Pats offensively against Brandon with two goals and two assists. Lane Scheidl also features four points in the three contests. Defenceman Ryan Pulock has found success against to the tune of four assists in three games. The Pats come into their final game of the week having dropped their two previous to the East and Central division leaders. The Wheat Kings are on home ice after a strong outing in Moose Jaw, winning 6-2 over the Warriors. Tonight's game can be heard on 620 CKRM starting with the Press Box Sports Bar Pre-Game Show at 7:05 p.m.
Lead Up: Pats Trounced by Calgary
Brooks Macek scored 13 seconds into the game and the Hitmen left the first period with a 3-0 lead. The Pats fought back in the second, getting on the board courtesy of Morgan Klimchuk's 23rd goal of the season, but Calgary would pull away. Jake Virtanen scored late in the second and early in the third to put it away and the Hitmen cruised to a 6-1 win.
Top Prospects Game
Tonight is Morgan Klimchuk's final game with the Pats before heading to Halifax for the Home Hardware Top Prospects game. The Pats leading scorer will lineup with players like Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathon Drouin as a member of Team Cherry.
On the Road Again
Before their loss in Prince Albert on Wednesday, the road had been kind to the Pats in the second half of the season. The Pats jumped out to a 3-0-0-0 record on the road, outscoring the opposition 13-5.
Who to Watch on Brandon
The Wheat Kings were one of the most active teams in the WHL on deadline day. Defenceman Nick Walters was one of the players on his way into Brandon and he made an immediate impact. In last night's contest with Moose Jaw, Walters had three assists in the 6-2 win.
