
Brett Harrison Named to Hockey Canada's Roster for the 2019 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge

Oshawa, ON - Hockey Canada announced today that forward Brett Harrison has been named to Hockey Canada's roster that will compete at the 2019 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Harrison, the London, ON native was the 1st round, 16th overall selection by the Gens in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. He was a member of the London Junior Knights during the 2018-19 season where he tallied 42 goals and 21 assists for 63 points in 33 games played.
The 6'1, 167-pound, left shot centre, Harrison participated in the OHL Cup in March where he was a point per game player notching two goals and an assist in three games with the Junior Knights. At the OHL Gold Cup, Harrison suited up for Team Alliance at the tournament. Appearing in four games, he recorded two goals and three assists, sitting second on his team in scoring and tying for fifth in tournament scoring on the way to Team Alliance claiming the Bronze medal. This season, he has amassed six points (two goals, four assists) in nine game played in his rookie season with the Generals.
"It's definitely an honour to be selected to play at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge for Hockey Canada. I have always dreamed of pulling on the Hockey Canada jersey and representing my country, so I'm excited to get things going at the tournament," said Harrison on being named to the roster.
"Brett has had great start to his season and has contributed to us having a real good start as a team," said Vice President and General Manager Roger Hunt upon finding out Harrison made the team. "With the start he's had, he certainly has caught the eyes of the Hockey Canada staff that are trying to win a gold medal."
The World Under-17 Hockey Challenge is an international showcase of some of the best young hockey talent in the world. This event returns to the Prairies in 2019 when Medicine Hat, Alta., and Swift Current, Sask., play host from Nov. 2-9.
