August 27, 2006 - One day after promoting Ryan Aldridge to Rancho Cucamonga, the Cedar Rapids Kernels announced today that RHP Brendan Wilson has been promoted to Cedar Rapids from the Tempe Angels of the Arizona League.

Brendan is a native of Aspendale, Victoria, Australia and was signed as a non-drafted free agent by tne Angels on August 13, 2003. Last season at Orem, he posted a 1-5 record with a 7.71 ERA in eleven games for the Owlz with one start.

This year Wilson posts a 3.72 ERA in 12 games with no W-L record. In 19.1 innings, he's given up 20 hits and eight runs with 14 K's and only three walks.

Wilson arrived in Cedar Rapids late Saturday night, and will be active for Sunday's home game versus Beloit at 2 pm.

The Kernels active roster now stands at 24 players with three on the DL, one player short of the MWL maximum of 25 players.
