Braves to Welcome 1,000,000th Fan

Pearl, MS - The Mississippi Braves will host the Montgomery Biscuits and the Tennessee Smokies in the first 10-game homestand of the 2009 season from Thursday, April 30th through Saturday, May 9th at Trustmark Park. M-Braves fans can expect a plethora of promotional materials throughout the homestand.

During this homestand, and as early as Thursday, April 30th, the M-Braves will welcome the 1,000,000th fan into Trustmark Park. That fan will be recognized during the game and will receive numerous gifts from the M-Braves. Could you be that 1,000,000th fan? You have to show up to find out.

The Braves get the homestand underway on Thursday, April 30th with a 7:05 pm first pitch against the Biscuits. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free Southern League Championship souvenir baseball and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s #88 car will be on display inside the gates. It will also be Thirsty Thursday when all 16 oz. soft drinks and domestic draft beer will be only $1.

Friday, May 1st will be full of appearances as Smokey the Bear and Myron Noodleman will be in attendance. Smokey the Bear will be promoting the Mississippi Forestry Commission. The first 2,000 fans will receive a free M-Braves flag and everyone will get to see the Braves Friday Night Fireworks Extravaganza after the game.

On Saturday, May 2nd, The Amazing Christopher will be in attendance and the Braves silent auction tables will be set up throughout the game.

Sunday, May 3rd will be a 1:05 pm first pitch and the first 2,000 fans will get a free Braves key chain. After the game, children 14 and under can run the bases at Trustmark Park compliments of Comcast Cable. Sundays feature the M-Braves FamilyFest when a family of four can get four dugout level seats, four hot dogs or hamburgers, four 16 oz. soft drinks, four bags of peanuts or cracker jacks, four M-Braves caps, two game programs and Fun Zone wristbands for the children for only $52 (regular price: $153).

Monday, May 4th is Dollar Dog Monday when all hot dogs, excluding foot longs, will be $1. It'll also be Military Monday when any member of any US Military Division can get field level seats for themselves and their families for only $2. It's also Church Bulletin Monday when families can get half-priced field level seats by presenting a church bulletin. Mondays are also Chevron Bonus Monday when tickets are buy-one-get-one-free upon presentation of a Chevron credit card.

Tuesday, May 5th will be Cinco de Mayo night at Trustmark Park where sections of the stadium will be decorated for the Mexican holiday. It will also be Trustmark Bank Two for Tuesday when all seats, berm grass tickets, hot dogs, fountain drinks and popcorn will be two-for-one.

The M-Braves will encourage physical fitness on Wednesday, May 6th when the Silver Sneakers Fitness Program invades Trustmark Park. A pre-game exercise demonstration will take place on the field and the first 1,000 kids in the stadium will receive a free Babe Ruth educational magazine. First pitch for the Braves game against the Tennessee Smokies will be at 11 am. It's also Kids Night (day) when all children 14 and under will get field level seats for only $2 and Fun Zone wristbands for only $5.

Thursday, May 7th will be Thirsty Thursday when all 16 oz. soft drinks and domestic draft beer will be $1.

On Friday, May 8th, the Braves will feature the Friday Night Fireworks Extravaganza after the Braves take on the Tennessee Smokies at 7:05.

Saturday, May 9th will be Breast Cancer Awareness Night when the M-Braves will wear pink jerseys during the game and a silent auction will be held for those game-worn jerseys. The players will take the shirts off their backs after the game, autograph them, and present them to the auction winners.

Tickets are available, but are sure to go fast. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Trustmark Park ticket office, the Mississippi Coliseum, Be-Bop Records in Jackson and Vicksburg, all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.mississippibraves.com or by phone at 601-932-8788. Fans can also call Ticketmaster to place their orders at 601-355-5252. There will be a $5 fee for all phone orders through the Braves ticket office.
