
Branch earns Goalie of the Week honors

Fraser, MI â The United Hockey League announced Monday that Motor City Mechanics goaltender Rod Branch has been named the Southern Sports Supply Goalie of the Week. Branch recorded a perfect 4-0-0 week and is currently riding a personal 11-0-0 winning streak (a 12-0-0 team winning streak).
For the second time this season, Branch earns the Goalie of the Week honors. Branch finished the week with a 1.25 GAA and a .959 save percentage. In Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the top ranked Muskegon Fury, Branch made 21 saves. Branch stopped 26 shots in Friday's 2-1 win over Richmond, made 24 saves in Saturday's 3-1 win over Richmond and turned away 47 of 48 shots on Sunday as the Mechanics beat Elmira 4-1.
Branch led all UHL goaltenders this season in saves made with 1,812 and finished second in the UHL in minutes played (3,686). Branch also finished the season in fifth place with 31 wins (an overall record of 31-25-6).
