NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 23)- The day after Thanksgiving, the Texas Brahmas were showing no ill effects of holiday blues as they defeated the Rocky Mountain Rage, 3-2 at the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday night.
The first period was a slow one, as only 15 shots total were recorded and ended scoreless. But the Brahmas were not giving up for their .
In the second period the Killer Bees scored first at the 1:50 mark by Banga. The Brahmas answered back at the 17:46 mark with a goal by forward Greg McConnell, assisted by Grant Jacobsen.
The third period was one for the Brahmas fans as Greg McConnell scored just :38 in the period putting the Brahmas up 2-1. Among all of the action in the third period was another Brahmas goal, this time by forward Jordan Cameron. Grant Jacobsen and Eric Main were awarded the assists.
As time on the clock was winding down, the Killer Bees made their attempt at a comeback with a goal at the 9:18 mark. Rio Grande continued to fight, but the Brahmas fought back, keeping the game in their favor with a final score of 3-2.
The Texas Brahmas outshot the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 39-30 as goaltender David Cacciola stopped 28 shots. The Brahmas' record is now 8-4 as they face the Rocky Mountain Rage tomorrow night at the NYTEX Sports Centre for a 7:05 PM start.
