Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (November 2)- On the second day of November, the number two seemed to be the Brahmas favorite number as they improved their record to 2-0 against the Austin Ice Bats with a 3-2 win Friday evening.
The night began with an Ice Bats power play goal at the 7:20 mark by Brendan Cook. The Brahmas did not let the Ice Bats to celebrate too long as defenseman Kevin McLeod answered with a goal of his own just minutes later. Grant Jacobsen and Chris Thompson were credited with the assists.
The second period proved to be filled with feistiness and emotion as it was flooded with penalties, including a cross-checking call against Brahmas enforcer Robin Big Snake. Big Snake disagreed with the call, leading him to receive two additional penalties for game misconduct. He was then escorted to the locker room where he would spend the rest of the evening.
Although penalties stood out in the second (nine in total), both teams managed to get themselves on the scoreboard. Ice Bats forward Henry Kuster, scored a power play goal after the Big Snake penalty to put the Bats up 2-1. But, for the second time in the evening, the Brahmas came back with a power play goal of their own. The team's leading goal scorer, Scott Sheppard, kept his title for another game as he netted one past Ice Bats goalie Miguel Beaudry.
The final period revealed heroic antics displayed by Brahmas forward Greg McConnell as he notched the game winning goal for the second consecutive game.
Tomorrow night, the Brahmas will face the Corpus Christi Rayz on the road for a 7:05 PM start. For more information regarding the Brahmas win or upcoming schedule, please visit www.brahmas.com.
