Youngstown SteelHounds News Release


The Youngstown SteelHounds will look to stay perfect as they take on the Wichita Thunder this evening. The Hounds are coming off of their first come from behind victory over the Mudbugs on Tuesday night. Youngstown currently is having their best start in franchise history. The Thunder have only scored four goals in their first three games. The SteelHounds are in the midst of three games in three nights in three cities as Saturday they will travel to Austin and then will be in Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon. Chris Shaffer is on a two game goal scoring streak for Youngstown. Lakewood, Ohio's own Andy Franck has been the goaltender for all five SteelHounds victories. Chris Richards is leading the Hounds in points with nine. Wichita is led by Travis Clayton who's 311 goals ranks third all time in the CHL. The Thunder are once again without captain Jason Duda who injured his knee during a practice. Duda's 305 goals puts him fourth for all time in the CHL. The Hounds went 3-0-1 against Wichita last season. This is their first of five meetings between the two clubs this season. Tonight's game will be on WSOM AM 600 and SteelHounds.com. There is no CHL Network viewing for this game.
