Rapid City Rush News Release

(North Richland Hills, TX) - The Fort Worth Brahmas rallied in the third period for a 3-2 win over the Rapid City Rush on Saturday night. The Brahmas have now won nine of their last eleven games while the Rush remain hot, winners in four of their last six. The Rush now face the Wichita Thunder on Tuesday night at INTRUST Bank Arena in the third game of their six-game road swing.

One night removed from scoring three powerplay goals against the Bloomington Blaze, the Brahmas man-advantage picked up where it left off. Veteran forward John Snowden's one-timer from the high slot gave Fort Worth the lead 12:19 into the game. The Rush responded with less than three minutes to go in the opening period when Jamie VanderVeeken wristed in his first goal since rejoining the team, making it 1-1 after one.

Rookie forward Justin Faryna potted the lone goal of the second period, giving the Rush a 2-1 lead on a rebound goal that served as his third of the season.

The final frame was all Fort Worth, as the Brahmas scored a pair of unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead and hold on for the win. The first came at 7:11 from Shawn Szydlowski who slammed a rebound in from the low slot for his sixth of the season. The eventual game winner was buried by Riley Boychuk after a broken play at the side of the net.
