Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The will to win wasn't with the Brahmas in a pivotal Southern Conference showdown in Laredo Saturday as they fell 5-1 to the Bucks.

It looked as if Laredo was looking to give Texas a taste of their own medicine following a Brahmas convincing 4-0 victory the last time the teams took the ice on February 12 when a shaky first period put the Brahmas down 3-0. Bucks Todd Griffith netted the first goal for the Bucks followed by a pair from Sylvain Deschatelets.

The opening frame meltdown looked to have ended in the second, beginning with Joe Palmer who came in relief for Brett Jaeger in net to begin the period and fended off 10 Laredo shots. Yet, when the third period buzzer came, Laredo proved they were there to play, beating the Brahmas tired bodies at the 3:28 mark in the third for a 4-0 lead. Texas' newest face, Matt Pierce ended Bucks netminder Pier-Olivier Pelletier's shutout bid when he netted a powerplay goal with assists from Jason Deitsch and Kevin Seibel. Palmer and the Brahmas allowed a shorthanded goal midway in the third for the 5-1 Bucks win.

The Brahmas now head back home for a 4:05 PM game on Sunday against the Missouri Mavericks at the NYTEX Sports Centre. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
