
Bucks Host Showdown With Brahmas Tonight

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League continue their three-game homestand tonight when they host the Texas Brahmas at the Laredo Entertainment Center. Game time is 7:30pm. The Bucks will hold "Give Blood, Play Hockey" today at the LEC. The blood drive runs from 10am-8pm in the concourse of the arena. Everyone who donates blood will receive TWO FREE TICKETS to a Bucks game game, along with many other gifts. Group tickets start at just $10, call 718-BUCK (2825).

With a regulation win tonight Laredo can tie Texas for third place in the Southern Conference with each team having played 54 games. A regulation loss tonight puts the Bucks four points back of the Brahmas.
The Bucks opened a three-game homestand Friday with a 3-2 triumph over Rio Grande Valley. Pier Pelletier stopped 23 shots he faced as Laredo had three different goal scorers (Eric Giosa, Neil Trimm, Sylvain Deschatelets). Trimm has three goals in two games while Deschatelets has picked up four points (1-34) in his first two games for the Bucks.
With the win the Bucks have earned points in nine of their last 12 games and are 7-3-2 in that span.
The Bucks are 2-2 against the Brahmas this season (2-1 in Laredo) having beaten Texas 4-3 (Jan 3rd) and 3-1 (Jan 29th) at home while being shutout 2-0 (Nov 21st at LEC) and 4-0 (Feb 12th at NYTEX).* *Laredo will travel to Texas two more times this season (March 5 & March 14th) to close out the regular season series.
Laredo will finish their fifth straight weekend with a three-in-three Saturday. Starting the weekend of Jan 29th Bucks will play three games in three nights in seven straight weekends. In all, from January 29th-March 14th the Bucks will play 22 games in 44 days (10 home, 9 away). They are 9-5-2 in that span.
The Brahmas picked up a 4-3 win over Corpus Christi Friday night to hold a two-point edge on the Bucks.

On Monday March 8th the Bucks will host Ladies Hockey 101 at the LEC hosted by Terry Ruskowski and the Bucks players.
Ladies will have the opportunity to learn the skills of the game from coach Rosco and the Bucks players. You will also get to have dinner with the team, a locker room tour, receive a gift bag and much more!
