Brahmas blanked by Bucks

March 14, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas -In just the second time this season, the Texas Brahmas were shutout at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The Brahmas fell to the Laredo Bucks 2-0 Saturday night in front of a full house.

Although the Brahmas have already taken the Southeast division from the Bucks this season, the game still had the impact of desperation for the Bucks as they look to jump up in the standings in order to surpass the mini round in the playoffs. With the help of Bucks forward Igor Agarnov, Laredo found the back of Brett Jaeger's net to put the Bucks up 1-0. It was much the same in the second as James Hiebert in just his fourth game with the Bucks fired a shot from the point, giving Laredo the two goal edge.

A frustrated Brahmas team delegated to physical play at the 4:32 mark in the middle frame, as both Texas enforcer Nathan Saunders and Bucks forward Hiebert were handed game misconducts for their actions in the melee. Texas peppered ten shots Andrew Martin's way but were unable to find relief in a form of a goal, losing just their fifth game at home.

The Brahmas will face the Wichita Thunder tomorrow night at 6:05 PM at the NYTEX Sports Centre for the final regular season home game. In recognition of the last game, the Brahmas are hosting "Fan Appreciation Night"; all those in attendance will be treated with various gifts throughout the game as a thank you. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.

* The last time the Brahmas were shut out came on December 26: the result? The Brahmas went on a 16 home game winning streak.
