Scorpions Win In Another Instant Classic Against Arizona

[RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-In another great game against two rivals, the Scorpions squeezed out a 3-1 victory over Arizona. The win kept the Scorpions' playoff hopes alive as they sit six points behind Corpus Christi with four games remaining.

With the game tied late in the third period, Mike MacDonald attempted a wraparound shot that was saved. The puck lay on top of the crease and Torren Delforte saw his opportunity and converted the rebound goal. Aaron MacInnis added an empty net goal to seal the home team's victory.

After a scoreless first period, the teams traded goals in the middle frame. While shorthanded, Andrew Smale chipped the puck out of his own end. Chris Robertson found the puck, raced into the offensive zone and scored his 30th goal of the season.

Just as the Scorpions were about to return to full strength another penalty was called. Scorps' net minder Kyle McNulty made three consecutive saves it was not enough. With bodies in front of the net Chris Bartolone found a lose puck and stuffed it into the net, tying the game at one.

On Sunday the Scorpions will host Tulsa at 3:15 p.m. Bring your skates because after the game is a "Skate with the Scorps." Following the skating, join the players at Village Pizza in Corrales for a post game party.
