Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Tomorrow at CenturyTel Center, the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs return from a three-game road trip to play their only Sunday afternoon home game of the season. At 4:05 pm, the Mudbugs will face the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees for the final time this season, presented by Global Express.
Following tonight's important contest in Mississippi against the RiverKings, the 'Bugs will have just four regular season games remaining when they come home Sunday to take on Rio Grande Valley. Valuable points will be on the line for both teams in this game as they close out a set of three games in three days and finish their four-game regular season series. Going into Saturday night's games, both the Mudbugs and Killer Bees are ranked fourth in their respective conferences but still have the chance to climb into the third seed and out of the best-of-three play-in round between the fourth and fifth seeds in each conference.
Bossier-Shreveport won the year's first meeting with the Killer Bees by a 4-3 tally at the CTC back in late November, but has since had some trouble with them. The 'Bugs suffered one of their worst losses of the season against Rio Grande Valley on January 10, falling 7-1 at the Dodge Arena. The Bees then came back to Bossier City on January 24 and handed the Mudbugs a 4-1 defeat to take a 2-1 lead in the season series.
If you have already purchased your ticket package for the 2009 CHL playoffs, don't forget that Sunday's game is also your first opportunity to pick up your Mudbugs playoff tickets. Playoff strips will be available for pickup at the Mudbugs office all week long and at both of next weekend's games on March 20 and 21.
Because of Sunday's special 4:05 pm opening faceoff, the CenturyTel Center box office will open at 11:00 am on Sunday morning and the doors will open for the game at 3:00 pm. Individual tickets are available through Ticketmaster at 318-741-9700 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Group ticket packages are on sale at the Mudbugs office at 318-752-BUGS.
Tonight the Mudbugs and RiverKings meet for the tenth time this year at 7:05 pm with the 'Bugs looking to end a three-game losing skid to Mississippi. The game will be aired live on 1130 AM KWKH with pregame coverage starting at 6:45 and can also been seen live online through the CHL Network.
