Brady Singer Named Texas League Pitcher of the Week

SPRINGDALE, Ark - The Texas League announced the circuit's Pitcher and Player of the Week honors for the week of July 22nd through July 28th and right-hander Brady Singer of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals has been selected as the league's top pitcher for the week. The honor is the first for Singer.

During his award-winning week, the former 18th overall selection in the 2018 first-year player draft made two starts against the Amarillo Sod Poodles (Double-A San Diego Padres) on Monday, July 22nd and Sunday, July 28th. In the two outings, the first on the road and second at home, he went 1-0 while giving up three runs (two earned) on nine hits with 12 strikeouts and three walks in 12.1 innings pitched.

It marks the 27th time in franchise-history that a Northwest Arkansas Naturals' pitcher has earned the Texas League's Pitcher of the Week honor and the first since right-hander Ofreidy Gomez received the honor earlier this year for his outstanding performance during the week of April 15th through April 21st.

Former catcher Meibrys Viloria was the Texas League Player of the Week for June 3rd through June 9th.

Nate Mondou of the Midland RockHounds (Double-A Oakland Athletics) was the Texas League Player of the Week after hitting .429 with a home run, two doubles, and four RBIs in six games for the 'Hounds.
