August 11, 2004 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Bismarck Bobcats News Release
He's coming back for his eighth season of Bobcat hockey.
Y-93 radio personality Bob Brady will return as the Voice of the Bobcats for the 2004-05 season. He has been the voice of the âCats since their inception in 1997.
Brady has seen many memorable moments, from the Bobcats opening night at the Civic Center in 1997 to the back-to-back Borne Cup Championships to the first ever Bobcat appearance at Nationals.
At first thought, several players -- including Aaron Boston, Damen Iannillo, Garret Roth, Scot Hankola, Matt Palzak and Scott Mickelson -- would be eligible for a Bob Brady all-time âCats line-up. But, in reality, he says, "There are too many to mention."
As far as the upcoming season, Brady says, "I look forward to watching the Bobcats defend the Borne Cup Championship and to the 2005 USA Junior A National Tournament here in Bismarck."
Brady admits that he started with the âCats because of his love of the game, but says jokingly, "They just won't let me leave!"
It's evident that when he is not around, both fans and players miss him. "Bob has an energy that the players and the fans love," says Mat Hulberg, Bobcats general manager. "He has played a key role in our home ice advantage."
Brady will miss the Bobcats' exhibition game against the Billings Bulls on Sept. 9. He'll be tying the knot with his fiancé, KFYR-TV personality Heather Lewis.
When not announcing for the Bobcats, Brady can be heard mornings on Y-93. He also is the sports director for Clear Channel, Bismarck, which entails play-by-play football, basketball and more, for both KFYR-AM, AM 710 the Fan and Y-93.
