Wildcats' Dallas camp a success

Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

The Wichita Falls Wildcats recently staged their first -- and only -- open tryout camp of the summer at Addison Square Garden. Located north of Dallas, Addison Square Garden is home to the Dallas Titans Jr. "B" Hockey Team.

"It was great to see such a large turn out on such short notice," said head coach Brian Meisner. "We had a large variety of regions from the United States represented."

Eighty players attended the three-day event that included a practice, three preliminary games and an All-Star Game. Several players from this camp have been invited to attend the season-starting training camp in Wichita Falls in late August.

"We really appreciate the help and support that we received from Eric Ballard and Brian Sutton (Colorado Outlaws Midget AAA), Konstantin Lodnia (LA Stars Midget AAA), Dwight Mullins (Dallas Stars Midget AAA), Jimmy Cariera (Dallas Titans Jr. B), Greg Smith, Tim Best and his staff (Addison Square Garden) and Doug Sauter (Oklahoma City Blazers-CHL)," said Assistant Coach Mike Perkins. "Without the help and support of these guys, our camp couldn't have gone as smoothly as it did."

Six exhibition games have been scheduled as part of training camp.

"We are really looking forward to letting the guys battle for spots on the team," said Coach Meisner. "Our exhibition games will be an opportunity for the guys to showcase themselves in a game environment."
