Brad Beck to Rancho, Mike Pete joins Kernels

The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced that LHP Brad Beck has been promoted to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League and that LHP Mike Pete has been reassigned from Rancho Cucamonga to Cedar Rapids.

Beck joined the Kernels on May 22nd from Rancho and has appeared in 11 games, all out of the bullpen, for the Kernels. He has no record with a 4.05 ERA in 6-1/3 innings pitched. Brad has struck out seven and walked no one with one wild pitch.

Mike Pete was signed by the Angels as a non-drafted free agent on July 5th, 2005 out of the University of Florida. He spent 2005 at Orem, where in 25 games he had a 2-1 record with a 0.99 ERA and two saves. Pete started the season at Rancho and has appeared in 25 games for the Quakes, all out of the bullpen. In 35-1/3 innings, he's allowed 42 hits and 27 runs (23 earned) while walking 23 and striking out 17. He has a record of 2-1 and an ERA of 5.86 with no saves.

Pete is expected to be active and in uniform for the Kernels 2 pm game with Burlington on Monday.

The move leave the Kernels roster at the MWL maximum of 25 players.
