
BPO announces Program for Bisons Independence Eve Celebration

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus have announced their program for the Independence Eve Celebration concert following the Buffalo Bisons/Rochester Red Wings game on Tuesday, July 3 (6:05 p.m.), presented by KeyBank (gate open at 5:00 p.m.). In its 13th year as the premier summer event in downtown Buffalo, the BPO and Chorus will perform several patriotic and American classics as well as tributes to American stage, cinematic and pop cultures.
Since debuting in 1995, 229,550 fans have attended the Independence Eve Celebration with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at Dunn Tire Park.
"Every year, Paul Ferington and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus put on a world-class show for our fans," said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Buffalo Bisons. "The fact that almost a quarter of a million fans have taken in this event is a testament to how special this evening has become over the last 13 years."
The concert will begin with a several tributes to American stage and motion pictures. There will be medleys to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Tony Award winning Beauty and the Beast, the 25th anniversary of American Film Institute's 25th Greatest Movie of all time, E.T., and the 50th anniversary of West Side Story. The BPO and Chorus will also perform several sing-alongs from Mary Poppins to honor its 2007 Broadway revival.
Next, fans will be able to pay tribute to the 231st birthday of out great nation as the BPO and Chorus present the "Star Spangled Spectacular Sing Along" and "God Bless America." The "Armed Forces Salute" will allow the fans in attendance to honor the brave men and women that are fighting to protect our freedoms both home and abroad. Finally, Independence Day classics like "Overture 1812" and "Stars and Strops Forever" will lead into the Largest Fireworks Show of the season.

Limited Packs Still Remain
There are a limited number of BPO 4-Packs still available for the Bisons Independence Eve Celebration on Tuesday, July 3.
The 4-Packs, which sold out in 2006, include four reserve seat tickets, four hot dogs, four soft drinks and one souvenir Bisons baseball for just $90. It's a savings of $22 and a great way for fans to bring their entire family to the premier summer event in Western New York.
