Lynx Get Roster Reinforcements From Reading

OTTAWA - The Lynx added OF Randy Ruiz and RHP Ryan Cameron from Double-A Reading. IF Joey Hammond was transferred to Reading.

Ruiz, 29, has combined for a .320 average with 10 HR and 44 RBI in 69 games with Altoona and Reading of the Double-A Eastern League this season. He led the Eastern League in runs batted in (87) and extra-base hits (62) while finishing second in the League with 27 HR and 35 doubles. Ruiz has a career .301 average with 128 HR and 553 RBI over his first eight professional seasons.

Cameron, 29, had no record and a 3.38 ERA in three appearances with the Lynx earlier this season. He is 0-1 with one save and a 6.37 ERA in 19 games with the R-Phils this season. Last year, Cameron spent the entire season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he went 6-2 with a 3.19 ERA and seven saves. This is Cameron's 11th professional season.

Hammond, 29, is hitting .273 with 4 RBI in 23 games with the Lynx this season. He was a force with Reading before his promotion to Ottawa, batting .342 with 17 runs batted in over 32 games with the R-Phils. He has a .272 career batting average over nine seasons in the Minor Leagues. He played in Ottawa in both 2003 and 2004, combining for a .257 average, one home run and 62 runs batted in over 193 games with the Lynx.
