Hartford Athletic took on Ottawa Fury FC north of the border on Sunday afternoon. The Boys in Green gave it a good fight but ultimately headed home with the 4-1 loss.
Ottawa was ready to go right out of the chute with 2 quick goals to start the match. Some tough calls against Hartford defenders gave Ottawa two PK chances both scored by Hadji Barry. Shortly after in the 18th minute Christiano Francois powered one to the far post for Ottawa's third goal. The score would remain 3-0 going into halftime.
The start of the second half was a slow start for both sides but the 65th minute brought a goal for Hartford. Jose Angulo finishes a great ball from Ryan Williams to put Hartford on the board. Ottawa quickly answered with a goal from Hadji Barry for his third of the day. Possession went back and forth for the remainder of the match but ended with a 4-1 loss for Hartford.
