
Bowie tops Altoona, 2-0

(Bowie, MD) Troy Patton and two relievers combined on a five hit shutout as the Bowie BaySox blanked the Altoona Curve in game one of a three game series from Prince George Stadium in Bowie.
Patton (4-1) allowed five hits over five innings to pick up the win. He didn't walk anyone and hit a batter while striking out five. Fredy Deza pitched the sixth and seventh innings, allowing just a walk. Wilfrido Perez pitched the final two perfect innings in relief to nail down his seventh save of the season.
Brandon Snyder provided the offense for Bowie when he hit a two run homer in the fourth inning off losing pitcher Daniel Moskos (2-3). Moskos went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits with a walk and a strikeout. Jeff Sues pitched three shutout and hitless innings out of the bullpen. Jeff Carsaletti led the Curve offense with two of the five hits. Jason Delaney, Steve Lerud & Angel Machado chipped in with a hit each.
The Curve continues their series with Bowie at Prince George Stadium on Wednesday night at 7:05. Left-hander Kyle Bloom (0-1 5.40) toes the rubber for the Curve. Bowie will counter with righty John Mariotti (0-1 8.68).
