Bowie Baysox Make Series Player Moves

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a series of roster moves today. LHP Chris George was transferred to class Triple-A Norfolk, RHP Josh Perrault was placed on the Seven-Day Disabled List retroactive to July 7, IF Joe Mahoney was transferred to Bowie from class Single-A Frederick and RHP Jose Diaz was transferred to Bowie from class Single-A Frederick. In addition to those moves, Baltimore Orioles LHP Mike Gonzalez has been assigned to Bowie to continue his Major League Rehab Assignment. With the moves, the Baysox maintain a complete 24-man roster. Players on Major League rehab assignments do not count towards a team's 24-man roster.

George has not appeared in a game for the Baysox this season. He is 4-3 with a 4.16 ERA in 17 games for the Norfolk Tides, including 12 starts.

Perrault appeared in 7 games for the Baysox this year, including one start. He was 0-2 with a 9.24 ERA. He is eligible to come off the Disabled List Wednesday, July 14.

Mahoney hit .299 in 72 games for the Frederick Keys this season with 18 doubles, nine home runs and 49 RBIs while primarily playing first base and batting cleanup. He also stole five bases in nine attempts.

Diaz was an important piece of the Keys' bullpen, going 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 12 saves in 12 opportunities. The right-hander struck out 33 batters in 26.1 innings while walking nine. Last year he pitched in 36 games for the Frisco RoughRiders, class Double-A Affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

Gonzalez appeared in two games for the Baysox this year, allowing one run on a solo home run over 2.0 innings. The home run was the only hit he allowed, he struck out two batters and did not allow a walk.
