
Chase D'Arnaud Added to E.L. All Star Squad

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg Senators and the Eastern League announced today that there is a change to the Western Division Roster for the Eastern League All-Star Game on July 14 at Metro Bank Park in Harrisburg.
Altoona Curve shortstop Chase D'Arnaud has been added to the Western Division roster taking the place of INF Brandon Crawford (Richmond) who is unable to play and is not attending the game.
d'Arnaud is the sixth Curve player selected, which is tied the most in Altoona Curve franchise history. During the 2006 and 2007 seasons, the Curve had six representatives. The six representatives is also tied for most on the Western Division roster. Host Harrisburg also has six selections, while the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern Division had seven players selected which is the most representatives of the 12-team Eastern League.
Aside from d'Arnaud, pitchers Derek Hankins and Rudy Owens along with position players Matt Hague, Josh Harrison and Hector Gimenez will also be representing the Curve and the city of Altoona as All-Stars.
d'Arnuad, 23, as the fourth round pick of the Pirates out of Pepperdine in 2008 and is rated as Pittsburgh's fifth best prospect according to Baseball America.
After a slow start to his season in the months of April and July, d'Arnaud has raised his average 30 points since June 1 (.215 to its current .245 mark). d'Arnaud is ranked third in the Eastern League in doubles (23) and third in the league in triples (5). Of d'Arnaud's 79 total hits this season, 30 of them have been for extra bases while the Long Beach, Calif. native also leads the Altoona Curve team in stolen bases (17-of-19).
