Boulton Assigned to Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The New York Islanders announced today forward Eric Boulton has cleared waivers and been assigned to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Boulton, 40, signed a two-way, NHL/AHL contract with the Islanders on July 22 after spending each of the last four seasons with the organization. The Halifax, NS native has played 654 NHL games with the Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers and New Jersey Devils, recording 79 points (31 goals, 48 assists) and 1,421 penalty minutes.

In addition, Boulton has played 135 AHL contests, producing 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) and 497 penalty minutes. Most recently, he spent two games with the Albany Devils during the 2011-12 campaign.

The 6'0, 227-pound forward was originally selected in the ninth round (#234 overall) by the New York Rangers in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
