Providence Earns Point in Overtime Loss to Albany

Providence, RI - The Albany Devils defeated the Providence Bruins in overtime 4-3. The Albany Devils started off the first period strong scoring the their first goal at 7:28 to make it 1-0. Brian Gibbons scored his first goal of the season with an assist from Blake Coleman. Peter Cehlarik tied up the game 1-1 with his first goal of the season, unassisted at 13:01 into the first. The Devil's quickly took back the lead with a goal from Joe Blandisi, assisted from Stollery and Scarlett.

The P-Bruins tied up the game again early in the second with a power play goal by Austin Czarnik, assisted by Alex Grant and Peter Cehlarik.Shortly after an unsuccessful power play, Blake Pietila scored for Albany with assists from Thomson and Stollery. Providence registered 18 shots in the period but Albany held the lead, ending the second period 3-2. 12:18 into the third period Tommy Cross scored his first goal of the season with an assist from Czarnik tying up the score 3-3. Despite a number of great scoring chances by Providence the period ended at 3 goals a piece. The game ended 1:53 into overtime when Blake Coleman scored on an assist from Miles Wood to give Albany the win 4-3.
