Boron Earns Performance of the Week

WICHITA, KS- Thunder goaltender Tim Boron's 53-save victory over Mississippi on December 19th has been named the CHL's Performance of the Week for December 15th-21st.

The 53 saves were a season-high for Boron, who currently ranks second in the CHL with a .928 save percentage, and seventh with a 2.50 goals against average. The performance netted Boron 49% of the total votes amongst the four nominations for the award.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was named the CHL's Oakley Goaltender of the Week for December 15th-21st, which saw Boron save 81 of 84 (.964) shots while allowing three goals in 118 minutes and 31 seconds (1.51).

The Thunder returns to action Wednesday night at the Kansas Coliseum when they host the Tulsa Oilers in their annual New Year's Eve game. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. For tickets, call the Thunder office at (316) 264-GOAL.
