WASHINGTON, Pa. - The two-time defending Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, tallied a second consecutive shutout to open the 2015 season by spoiling the home opener for the Washington Wild Things with a 1-0 decision.

The only run came across in the fifth inning. Craig Massey scored from third on an errant pickoff throw from Washington's starting pitcher to account for the lone tally. Eddie Cody twirled five blank innings, allowing just four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Hideyoshi Otake, Jake Joyce, and Clark Labitan combined on the shutout.

Schaumburg managed just four hits in the game from four different individuals. The Boomers did draw nine walks. Massey, Mike Schulze, and Alexi Colon all reached base three times.
