Burlington Bees News Release

Wade Hinkle and Chevy Clarke each hit home runs, as the Burlington Bees knocked off the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 6-4 on Sunday afternoon at Community Field.

One night after Wendell Soto delivered a walk-off single in 11 innings, the Bees (15-24) offense continued to knock around the Rattlers (19-21) on Sunday.

The Bees used two three-run innings to earn their 15th win of the season. Wisconsin scored a run in the top of the first when Tyrone Taylor scored on a double play. Burlington answered right back with three in the bottom of the first.

Tyler Wagner (4-2) struggled with his control from the beginning, walking Sherman Johnson to start the first. Wade Hinkle came to the plate with one out and doubled home Johnson. Michael Bolaski and Jonathan Walsh each walked to load the bases for Chevy Clarke. Clarke reached on an infield single, scoring Hinkle. Zac Livingston followed with a fielder's choice that prompted an error from Brent Dean and allowed Walsh to come home for the third run of the inning.

The power came through in the third for Burlington, as Wade Hinkle hit a two-run home run and Chevy Clarke blasted a solo home run to give the Bees a 6-1 lead.

Ryan Crowley (3-1) had a large lead to work with and used it to his advantage, surrendering four runs, three earned in five innings. The southpaw struck out five batters and bounced back in a nice way from his first loss of the season at Cedar Rapids.

The Bees bullpen was sensational for Jamie Burke. Eduard Santos struck out seven in three scoreless innings and Jairo Diaz fired a scoreless ninth for his sixth save of the year.

Burlington will look for its second series victory of the season when it sends Alex Keudell to the mound on Monday night to take on Damien Magnifico. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. at Community Field.
