GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies earned a 6-3 win in pinnacle Game Three of the Northeast Division Finals against the Greensboro Generals Wednesday night.

Ryan Mougenel opened scoring in the first period, only to be answered by two Generals goals. In the middle frame, Peter Metcalf tallied on the power play and Shawn Maltby chipped in his third goal of the postseason to tie the game at three by the end of the period.

In the third, Kevin Colley netted the game winner just 49 seconds into the period, and Paul Spadafora and Scott Matzka each scored insurance goals to give the Bullies the win.

Rookie goalie and emergency backup Jake Moreland relieved starter Matt Yeats 13 minutes, 28 seconds into the first period after Yeats had allowed two Generals goals scored by Jay Murphy and Kurt Drummond separated by just one minute. Moreland finished the game with 19 saves, giving up one goal to Mike Bayrack in the second period.

Maltby, Spadafora, and Colley each tallied two points on a goal and an assist in the win.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies defeated the Greensboro Generals by a final of 3-2 Friday night and won the Northeast Division Finals, three games to one. Tied at two at the end of two periods, captain Stefan Rivard tallied the game winner on a behind-the-net pass from forward Kevin Colley at 15:29 of the third period. In his first professional career playoff start, netminder Jake Moreland stopped 33 Generals shots, including all nine in the third period, and is now 2-0 after registering a win in the Bullies' 6-3 victory against Greensboro Wednesday.

Defenseman Ian Walterson and Colley each tallied a power-play goal for the Bullies.

BULLIES BITES

The No. 1 seed in the Northeast Division defeated the Greensboro Generals in the Northeast Division Finals, three games to one...Luke Curtin (9A) and Paul Spadafora (4G, 5A) lead the team in playoff scoring and are tied for fifth in the league in playoff scoring; each has nine points...Spadafora also leads the team with a plus-8...Curtin has tallied at least one assist in all seven of the Bullies' playoff games thus far...J.F. Caudron is tied for the league-lead with five playoff goals and leads the league with three game-winning goals in the postseason...Caudron has scored at least one goal in all four of the Bullies' home playoff games...Jake Moreland is 2-0 in the playoffs with a 1.69 goals against average...Matt Yeats is 4-1 in the playoffs with a 2.54 goals against average...The Bullies are 4-0 when leading after one period and are 2-0 when leading after two periods and when trailing after one period...Atlantic City is third in the league with a 28.6% on the power play on the road, scoring six goals in 21 opportunities in three games away from Boardwalk Hall.

BULLIES WILL FACE CINCINNATI IN NORTHERN CONFERENCE FINALS

The 2002-03 ECHL Northeast Division Champion Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies will face the Cincinnati Cyclones in the best-of-seven Northern Conference Finals of the 2003 Kelly Cup Playoffs beginning Wednesday, April 23, at 7:05 p.m. at Boardwalk Hall. Game Two is Friday, April 25, at 7:35 p.m. at Boardwalk Hall. Atlantic City defeated the Greensboro Generals, three games to one, in the best-of-five Northeast Division Finals to advance to the next round. In the Northwest Division Finals, Cincinnati defeated Brabham Cup winner Toledo Storm, three games to one.

The Bullies will play Games Three and Four, and if necessary, Game Five in Cincinnati. Game Three is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, at 7:00 p.m., while Game Four is Monday, April 28, at 7:00 p.m. If necessary, Game Five will be Tuesday, April 29, at 7:00 p.m.

If needed, the Bullies will return to action at Boardwalk Hall for Games Six and Seven. Game Six would be Friday, May 2, at 7:35 p.m. and Game Seven would be Saturday, May 3, at 7:35 p.m. (Please note the special start times). All Bullies playoff games may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1450 WKXW-AM.

BULLIES VS. CYLCONES

The Bullies were 2-1-1 against the Cyclones during the regular season and are 3-3-1 all-time against Cincinnati in the team's two-year existence. This season, the Bullies dropped the teams' first matchup in a shootout by a final of 4-3 on December 15, 2002, won the next two meetings, a 5-2 victory in Atlantic City on January 15, 2003 and a 6-4 win in Cincinnati on March 8, and lost the cross-division rivals' last contest by a score of 6-2 on March 12 at the U.S. Bank Arena.

BULLIES' CRAMPED CREASE

Scott Stirling returned to the Bullies after his stint with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. In 10 games with Bridgeport, Stirling registered an 8-2-0 record and a 2.41 goals against average with a 0.918 save percentage. The Bullies now have three goalies currently on the playoff roster. Stirling and Matt Yeats will be in uniform for Wednesday's game and Moreland will be listed under emergency status.
