Blues Recall Bishop And Stastny

ST. LOUIS (January 5, 2010) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has recalled goaltender Ben Bishop and center Yan Stastny from the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Stastny, 27, has played in 31 games this season with Peoria registering 17 points including seven goals, 10 assists and 35 penalty minutes. Earlier this season, the 6-0, 192-pound center played three games with the Blues recording a goal in his season debut with the NHL club.

Bishop, 23, has played in 20 games for the Rivermen this season posting a 12-6-2 record including a 2.60 goals against average and a.906 save percentage. Last season, the 6-7, 210-pound netminder appeared in six games with the Blues collecting a 1-1-1 record, 2.93 goals against average and a.893 save percentage.

The Blues will embark on a three-game West Coast road trip starting in San Jose Wednesday, January 6, including a game at Anaheim Thursday, January 7 and concluding in Los Angeles, Saturday, January 9.

Peoria will host the Toronto Marlies on Friday (7 p.m.) and the Milwaukee Admirals (3 p.m.) on Sunday. They will be on the road in Chicago on Saturday at 7 p.m.
