LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Steven Souza hit a game-tying homer in the 9th and a go-ahead homer in the 11th, but the BlueClaws scored twice in the bottom of the 11th for an 11-10 victory over the Hagerstown Suns Monday night.
In a ballgame that took 4:42 to complete, the BlueClaws erased a 6-2 deficit in the 5th before coughing up a 9-8 lead in the 9th inning.
In the bottom of the 11th trailing 10-9, Alejandro Villalobos reached base after he swung and missed at a pitch that got back to the screen. Tim Carver singled to put runners on first base and second base with no outs. Kelly Dugan single through the right side two batters later to score Villalobos on a play at the plate in which Hagerstown's catcher Jeremy Mayo couldn't handle the throw. Both Carver and Dugan advanced on the throw to set-up runners at second base and third base with one out.
Chris Duffy was intentionally walked to load the bases, but Ben Hawkins walked Aaron Altherr to force home Carver for the game-winning run.
