Rome, GA - The Rome Braves beat the Kannapolis Intimidators 7-4 Tuesday night at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 5,016. The Braves took four of five from the Intimidators and this marks the third consecutive series victory for Rome.

After Ross Heffley reached on an error, Rome's William Beckwith hit a huge two run homer in the first inning to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. The Braves made it a 4-0 game in the third on a RBI double by Heffley and RBI single by Robby Hefflinger.

Rome pushed the score to 6-0 in the fourth inning when both Chase Anselment and Brandon Drury singled and later scored on two wild pitches. Kannapolis plated its first two runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Joey DeMichele and Kevan Smith making it a 6-2 game.

Rome would go on for the 7-4 win as Ian Thomas (2) shut the door on the Kannapolis offense to secure his second save and secure a win for Ryan Weber (5-3) who pitched seven innings while giving up just two runs. Matthew Lane (2-2) was charged with the loss after being touched up for six runs on six hits in his four innings of work.
