Suns Squeezed by Claws 8-3

Lakewood, NJ - The Hagerstown Suns (49-33) saw the Lakewood BlueClaws (34-48) snap a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning to take the final game of the series, 8-3, at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, NJ on Tuesday night.

BlueClaws' right fielder Kelly Dugan went 2-for-4 with the game-winning RBI double. First baseman Brock Stassi, however, led the Lakewood attack with an inside-the-park home run and five RBIs on the night.

BlueClaws' starter Colin Kleven also ended the night with a no-decision, striking out a career-high 11 batters without allowing a walk. Lefty Blake Mascarello (2-0) earned his second win of the series with one scoreless frame.

Suns starting pitcher Bobby Hansen, Jr. did not factor in the decision, allowing three runs over six innings in the start. Reliever Colin Bates suffered the loss giving up five runs on four hits over two innings. Left fielder Billy Burns went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while shortstop Cutter Dykstra collected two hits and an RBI.

The Suns will now begin a five-game homestand with the Lexington Legends (Astros) at Municipal Stadium beginning on the Fourth of July, kicking off Meritus Health Wweek at Municipal Stadium.
