
'Dad Wrap up Road Trip with 7-6 Win

GREENSBORO, NC - The Hickory Crawdads blasted three home runs en route to the 7-6 come-from-behind win against the Greensboro Grasshoppers, before 8,028 fans at NewBridge Bank Park on Tuesday night . Hickory takes four of the five games in Greensboro, going 7-2 on the road trip overall, and remains in 1st place in the Northern Division Second Half Standings.
Greensboro (5-8, 51-32) charged in front with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning against RHP Jerad Eickhoff (W, 10-4). With one on and two down, 1B Ryan Rieger uncorked a two-run homer over the right-field wall for the early 2-0 lead.
The Grasshoppers stretched the advantage further with three runs in the bottom of the second. 3B Josh Adams started the inning by reaching on an error, before RF Ryan McIntyre was hit by a pitch to put two men on. C Wilfredo Gimenez then ripped an RBI double that scored Adams and led to a fielding error, enabling McIntyre to come in as well. Gimenez advanced all the way to third on the play, and then darted home on a passed ball, putting the 'Hoppers ahead, 5-0.
Hickory (10-3, 46-36), however, began chipping away immediately in the top of the third inning. With one out, SS Rougned Odor worked a walk to get himself on. 3B Drew Robinson then launched a two-run homer to get the 'Dads on the board, 5-2.
The Crawdads completed the comeback with three runs in the top of the fourth. C Kellin Deglan hammered a one-out double down the right-field side, before DH Jorge Alfaro reached on an error to put runners at the corners. One out later, 1B Jhonny Gomz tied it with a three-run bomb to left field, squaring the score, 5-5.
The 'Dads kept swinging away, seizing their first lead of the game in the top of the fifth inning. 2B Alejandro Selen was hit by a pitch with one away, and then LF Trever Adams belted a two-run shot over the right-field fence, lifting Hickory in front, 7-5.
Greensboro CF John Schultz countered with a solo home run in the fifth, but then the 'Dads bullpen dealt four scoreless inning the rest of the way. LHP Andrew Faulkner kept the lead intact through 2.1 frames, before RHP Phil Klein (S, 5) slammed the door with 1.2 scoreless innings to close the 7-6 win for Hickory.
