PENSACOLA, FL - A pair of big innings helped the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (19-26) stave off a five-game sweep with an 11-8 win over the Jacksonville Suns (21-23) in a wild series finale on Monday night from Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

Brooks Pinckard (W, 1-1) earned the win for Pensacola after tossing 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit along the way.
Justin Nicolino did not factor into Monday's decision after allowing five runs (all earned) on eight hits in 3.1 innings. The lefty finished with one walk and three strikeouts in the series finale.
Collin Cargill (L, 0-1) took the loss for the Suns, allowing two runs (both earned) on two hits in 0.2 innings.
James Nygren contributed a scoreless seventh inning, with Edgar Olmos allowing four runs (all earned) on three hits in his one inning of work.
The Blue Wahoos struck first with a two-out RBI single off the bat of Juan Silverio to grab an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
The Suns leveled the score at 1-1 after Austin Nola (HR, 1) drilled a two-out solo homer to left in the top of the third inning. The home run was Nola's first at the AA level.
The score remained level until Brodie Greene (HR, 2) put the Blue Wahoos back in front by a 2-1 score following a solo shot over the wall in left.
Pensacola's one-run edge wouldn't last for long as the Suns scored three times in the top of the sixth. The Suns used sacrifice flies from Joe Benson and Alfredo Silverio, a bases loaded walk to Alfredo Lopez and an RBI single from Justin Nicolino to make it a 5-2 Suns lead after the top of the sixth inning came to a close.
The back-and-forth battle continued in the next half inning, with Ross Perez ripping a one-out bases-clearing double down the right field line to tie up the ballgame at 5-5. The Blue Wahoos tacked on two more runs in the frame and held a 7-5 lead after six innings of play. Pensacola scored four more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and took an 11-5 lead into the ninth inning.
The Suns didn't go down quietly, scoring three times in the ninth inning including a two-run homer from Alex Burg (HR, 3), but ultimately fell three runs short in the series finale.
Five Blue Wahoos and three Suns would each finish with multi-hit games on Monday, with Pensacola's Rey Navarro leading the way with a three-hit effort.
After hitting a double and a homer in Monday's loss, Austin Nola finished with multiple hits in all five games, finishing the series 11-for-20 with one home run, five doubles, one triple, five RBI and seven runs scored.
The Suns will be off on Tuesday, but head back to Jacksonville to begin a 10-day, 11-game homestand starting on Wednesday May 21st with the opener of a five-game series against the Jackson Generals. The Suns are likely to start right-hander Jose Urena (4-2, 4.87), while the Generals are due to counter with the lefty Tyler Olson (1-1, 5.06).
