
Blue Rocks Will Turn Green For Good Cause

Wilmington, DE - On Saturday, September 1, the Wilmington Blue Rocks will pay tribute to their favorite dancing vegetable and infamous team mascot, Mr. Celery. When the Blue Rocks host the Potomac Nationals at 6:05 p.m., the entire Wilmington team and coaching staff will don Mr. Celery themed jerseys to raise money and awareness for the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. Gates at Frawley Stadium will open at 4:45 p.m.
Select game worn and autographed Mr. Celery themed jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction on the main concourse at Frawley Stadium during Saturday's game. All silent auction bids will close after the last out in the bottom of the seventh inning. Fans may also purchase raffle tickets for $2 each for a chance to win game worn autographed jerseys. Winning raffle ticket numbers will be announced throughout the night. Two 2007 team-autographed Mr. Celery jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction with a third to be auctioned off online at the team's official website, www.bluerocks.com.
In addition to the jerseys, Helen F. Graham Cancer Center volunteers will be auctioning off a popular Nintendo Wii game console by way of silent auction and will be walking through the stands selling commemorative wristbands for $1 each. All proceeds will go directly to benefit the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is a state-of-the-science, multidisciplinary treatment center involving chemotherapy, radiation treatment, surgery and a full spectrum of cancer-related therapies through the Christiana Care Health System. The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center is conveniently located on the Christiana Hospital campus at 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd. in Newark, DE.
