Wilmington Blue Rocks News Release

Frederick, MD - The opener of a three-game series between the Wilmington Blue Rocks and Frederick Keys was postponed due to poor field conditions from the weekend weather and forecasted rain at Harry Grove Stadium today. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow, Tuesday, April 22 with game one starting at 6:00 p.m. Each contest will be scheduled as a seven-inning affair. This marks the second rainout in as many days for the Blue Rocks, who lost their series finale in Potomac due to rain on Sunday as well.

Monday's scheduled starter, RHP Matt Kniginyky* (0-0, 2.19), will start game one on Tuesday against prospect RHP Brandon Erbe (1-1, 3.78). Piggybackers RHP Greg Holland (1-0, 1.80) and LHP Everett Teaford (1-0, 1.17) will combine to hurl the nightcap against RHP Pedro Beato (2-1, 3.86).

Wilmington returns home for a six-game homestand starting on Friday, April 25 against the Winston-Salem Warthogs at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Blue Rocks cap, courtesy of AAA Mid-Atlantic.
