
Blue Rallies Past Spurs to Clinch Playoff Berth

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Blue (27-22) defeated the Austin Spurs (31-18), 98-94, clinching the Midwest division title and a playoff berth.
On assignment from the Thunder, Dakari Johnson was the leading scorer for the Blue with a double-double, ending the game with 23 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.
Down by as many as 22 points, the Blue battled back with a 14-2 run midway through the third quarter to cut the deficit to single digits, bringing the score to 74-65. Early in the fourth quarter, Oklahoma City was down by nine before going on an 11-1 run. The run was punctuated by a jump shot from PJ Dozier, pushing the Blue past the Spurs at 82-81 before nine unanswered points for the home team sealed the victory.
"Obviously a great second half," said Head Coach Mark Daigneault. "I thought our defense carried us. We are really excited that we are going to the playoffs and excited to get prepared for that. I'm happy for our guys. They have worked hard all year and deserve the opportunity to compete for a championship."
Rashawn Thomas and two-way player Daniel Hamilton each recorded double-doubles for the Blue. Thomas logged 15 points and 12 rebounds along with two assists and two blocks. Hamilton registered 10 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and two steals.
Jaron Blossomgame and assignment player Derrick White led the Spurs with 24 points and seven assists each.
The Blue will wrap the regular season on Saturday, March 24 taking on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7 p.m. inside State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.
