Austin Spurs Acquire Kendal Yancy

March 23, 2018 - NBA G League (G League)
Austin Spurs News Release

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs, presented by SWBC, announced today that the team has acquired Kendal Yancy. Yancy will replace Livio Jean Charles who left the team earlier this week for opportunities overseas.

Yancy went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft and was drafted by the Windy City Bulls in the fourth round of the 2017 G League Draft. He was waived on Nov. 2 before the start of the season. The 6-3 guard spent his college career at the University of Texas where he averaged 4.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 127 games. Yancy has appeared in two NBA G League games this season, one with the Iowa Wolves and one with Austin.

Yancy will wear jersey no. 35 on Saturday, March 24 when Austin hosts the South Bay Lakers for their final home game of the regular season. Tipoff is 7 p.m. at the HEB Center at Cedar Park. The Spurs clinched a first round 2018 NBA G League Playoff bye after winning the Southwest Division Champion title and first seed of the Western Conference. Playoff dates will be announced at a later date.
