OSHKOSH, WI - The Canton Charge (22-28), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, capped off the 2017-18 season with a 139-117 victory over the Wisconsin Herd (21-29) at the Menominee Nation Arena on Friday night.
The Charge set a new franchise record with 34 assists on 56 made field goals and tied the team record for most three-pointers made in a game by draining 19. Canton never trailed en route to putting up their highest point total and largest margin of victory this season. Marcus Thornton had his 18th game of scoring 30+ points this season, netting 30 points and tallying nine assists in 37 minutes. Scoochie Smith finished his season with his third consecutive double-double, scoring 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting with 10 assists and two steals in 37 minutes.
JaCorey Williams notched his sixth double-double of the final eight games by finishing with 24 points on 10-of-13 shots and 12 rebounds with five assists in 32 minutes. Isaac Hamilton grabbed his first career double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 boards with two steals in 37 minutes. Grant Jerrett had an all-around effort of 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, five steals and three blocks in 38 minutes.
Wisconsin was paced by Xavier Munford's 31 points on 12-of-23 shooting in 41 minutes. James Blackmon Jr. added 25 points in 35 minutes, while Ricky Ledo came off the bench to add 22 points in 30 minutes.
